STATEMENT OF FAITH

“We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto everlasting, conscious punishment. We believe that heaven and hell are definite places. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. To God be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever. Amen.”

Objectives and Explanation

One of the main objectives of Cornerstone Christian School is to teach Christian principles for application in daily life. It is necessary that the parents agree to their children being taught from the perspective provided in our Statement of Faith. Our faculty is sensitive to areas of difference among Christians who love the Lord and who obey the dictates of Holy Scripture. We choose to focus on the areas of agreement, not on issues which divide. It would be unacceptable for students or parents to seek to propagate doctrines that divide or are not in agreement with our Statement of Faith.

The Biblical and philosophical goal of Cornerstone Christian School is to develop students into mature, Christ-like individuals who will be able to exhibit a life reflecting Biblical principals in daily life. Of necessity, this involves the school’s understanding and belief of what qualities and characteristics exemplify a Christ-like life. All enrolled students and parents of enrolled students are expected to exhibit a Christ-like life espoused and taught by the school and reflected in the Scriptures, and to refrain from certain activities or behavior that are not in alignment with God’s Truth. Thus, Cornerstone Christian School retains the right to refuse enrollment or to expel any student who engages in sexual immorality, or to refuse enrollment or to expel any student whose parent condones, supports, practices, or otherwise promotes such practices. God created man and woman in His image (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:22-23), and ordained marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:18-25, Matthew 19:4-6).

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We will therefore defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139).

The Statement of Faith does not purport to state all of the school’s beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of the School’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy and discipline, the Superintendent and the School Board shall be the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application as it relates to the policies, practices and activities of Cornerstone Christian School.
